Important Information Regarding Dental Insurance
At Tessar Dental, we do everything we can to make dentistry affordable. We will thoroughly explain recommended treatments and payment options, so that you will always know what to expect. In addition, Tessar Dental has partnered with CareCredit, a trusted name in third-party financing that allows patients to get the care they need.
We have provided some important facts that will help you understand insurance terms, policies, and limitations.

Dental insurance is diverse. Some policies cover only a small percentage of fees, while others cover 50 percent or greater. Typically, the more you or your employer pays for premiums, the better the coverage. We have found that most insurance providers pay 40 to 50 percent of the total cost of covered procedures.

Your benefits are probably based on "usual, customary, and reasonable” (UCR) fees. These fees may not accurately reflect the cost of our services. We are not a clinic, and we offer many luxuries and technologies to make your dental care comfortable. We invest time with each of our patients. To us, you are a person, not a number or a chart. In addition, Dr. Tessar and our team invest in more continuing education than is required so that we can bring you what we consider to be the best dental care. The fees considered reasonable and customary by your insurance provider probably do not reflect the type of care and service we consider standard.

Please familiarize yourself with your insurance policy before receiving treatment. Although preventive procedures are generally covered, some clauses (like the pre-existing conditions clause and the alternate procedure clause) may result in nonpayment. Remember that insurance is meant to aid with dental payment, not to cover 100 percent of all treatments.
As a courtesy, we will file your claim for you and provide all paperwork, charts, X-rays, and photos necessary to maximize your benefits. We are in-network with some insurance providers. Please call our dental office in Oakdale for more information.
